Glasgow, Scotland, Merchant. St. John County records. Intestate. Administration granted 4 November 1831 to James FRASER Junior, merchant, of the City of Saint John. Fellow bondsmen Peter BESNARD, merchant, City of Saint John, and Jedediah SLASON of Fredericton, York County. Petition of James FRASER dated 4 November 1831 stated he was the confidential agent of the deceased; that deceased left a widow and next of kin in Scotland; that there were no next of kin residing in New Brunswick, and there were legal proceedings against persons in the Province that became void because of his death, thereby causing a probability of loss to a considerable extent to the Estate of the said deceased. Inventory, dated 26 November 1831, valued at £15,974 by James FRASER Junr. included 1500 tons of timber valued at £1,500.
